The Steve Miller Band and Los Lobos put on another fantastic night of music. Thanks to Dave Mason for coming on stage for a guest appearance and to Mother Nature for the great show of rainbows throughout the evening.
That night also saw a number of Bowl Firsts:1. First Time the New Spot-Light Platform was used: A project funded by the American Classic Capital Campaign. The new spot-light platform has been raised up to the top of the new retaining wall giving a better perspective for the spots, less interference to the audience and a great aesthetic look finishing the back of the Bowl’s seating area.
2.First Time the Bowl participated in the Santa Barbara City’s Compost Program: The Bowl is proud to be a part of the food-scrap compost project through the City of Santa Barbara. The first phase was to train staff to compost all the food-scraps created during the prep of the catering for the artists. We will move into the catering dining area to properly separate all the compostable material. The final phase will include working with the public to compost any food leftovers generated in the audience area.
3. First Time for the new Beer holders in the men’s restroom: It’s been a long time coming and the new beer shelves on the urinals in the men’s restroom have been installed. These custom designed stainless steel shelves will support your beverage of choice during those long summer concert nights.
