Outreach provides essential support and resources to youth performing arts organizations throughout Santa Barbara County. A summary and link for each program and application is below.


Important

  • Organization and/or program should be focused on performing arts education for students in grades K – High School. Exceptions in age or programming should be discussed before submitting an application.
  • The Bowl supports programs within Santa Barbara County.
  • Applying organizations must be a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3); or an individual artist; or have a confirmed fiscal sponsorship with a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Our Grant Options

Grant Cycles

Spring Cycle and Fall Cycle provides two opportunities for critical funding.

Spring Cycle

2024 Spring Cycle will open Monday, March 4. Applications are due Thursday, March 21 by midnight – no exceptions. 

First time applicants will be required to attend an orientation session via Zoom before applying. Please contact Lyndsay Cooke to schedule.


Fall Cycle

Instrument Fund

Santa Barbara Bowl Instrument Fund ensures that lack of an instrument doesn’t prevent a child from learning to play music.

Community Ticket Subsidy – CTS

SB Bowl offers SUBSIDIZED tickets to concerts for organizations and programs serving youth in Santa Barbara County. These tickets are available for organizations to bring their students to experience live performing arts. Sign Up!

Flash Grants

Flash Grants respond quickly and focus on short-term projects and/or immediate use opportunities. Flash Grants intend to reduce barriers to expedited grant support and bridge applicants to the Outreach Grant Cycle program (Spring and Fall). Apply!

  • Maximum request is $3,000.
  • Applications will be responded to within 14 days of submission.
  • Flash Grant applications are accepted year-round.

Ad or Sponsor Requests

Let the Santa Barbara Bowl help support your community event with a mutually-beneficial sponsorship. To qualify for a sponsorship, your event must feature or benefit youth performing arts within Santa Barbara County.

Legacy Scholarships

The Santa Barbara Bowl scholarships have been established for Santa Barbara County students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the performing arts.  The Bowl provides two scholarships awarded to high school seniors each year:

  • The Monte T Brown Scholarship
  • The Paul Doré Scholarship

Administered through The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, interested students can apply through the General Scholarship Program. Apply!
