    CONCERTS

Musical talent runs in the Harper family, as three-time Grammy Award winner Ben Harper and his mom, Ellen Harper, prove in their collaborative album, Childhood Home. In 1958, the Harper family founded the Folk Music Center, a store and museum for all things music, and a place Ben quickly made his second home. Ben’s mom and grandparents encouraged his involvement in music from a young age. This has proved to be a large role in the magnitude of Ben’s success as he has released 16 albums and is currently performing on a world tour.

Childhood Home includes 10 songs, four of which were written by Ellen and the remainder by Ben. The album is a tribute to the journey of growing up and includes tracks relating to the joys and pains of home and family life. The album had been a topic of discussion for a long time, needing a lot of time and effort as an important piece of work to the duo. The album was released May 2014, but he continues to play original songs from the album on his tours.

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals are coming to the Bowl on Saturday, September 19, make sure to grab tickets to this event and hear the songs filled with memories of growing up.
