Grand Re-Opening Event to feature Studio Tours, Record Presentation and a studio session with Kenny and N4N Members.

Critically-heralded American Singer-Songwriter and guitarist Kenny Loggins will help re-open the original Notes for Notes (N4N) Studios at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara and United Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara County on Wednesday, April 11 with an intimate studio session at 4:00pm at the West Studio and presentation and studio tours at the East Studio at 5:30pm.

Notes for Notes was founded in Santa Barbara in 2006 and opened its first studio in the 1235 Teen Center before moving to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara in 2008, thanks to generous support from the Santa Barbara Bowl. “Notes for Notes opens the door to a world of musical expression where kids can record music, learn how to play an instrument, and form a band with their friends, all for Free”, said Laurie Leis Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara. The second N4N Studio opened across town in 2011 in the United Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara County’s Westside Club. “ Notes for Notes, exposes our kids to free music lessons and exposes them to a life-long gift of music. Best collaborative partnership I have ever had in my 30 year club career”, said Michael Baker, CEO of the United Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara County. That same year N4N launched its first studio outside California, in Nashville, making the organization a national entity. N4N has since grown to 21 Studios in 11 states, 16 cities serving over 8,000 youth per year.

Thanks to the support of Kenny Loggins and the Good Tidings Foundation the Santa Barbara Studios have received new paint, carpet, wood flooring, lighting, acoustic panels, flat screens and more.

“It’s my honor and pleasure to support such an important cause in my own community. Giving these kids the tools to help their creativity flourish is something I deeply value and I hope these new facilities will inspire Santa Barbara youth to pursue their musical passions,” said Kenny Loggins.

“With this being the city and studios that launched Notes for Notes we thought it only right to upgrade the studios with all features of our newest locations and we are extremely grateful to Kenny and Good Tidings for making it possible”, said Philip Gilley, Notes for Notes Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Bay Area foundation, Good Tidings which supports the creation of youth spaces all over the country worked with Kenny Loggins to make this support possible. “We had the pleasure of partnering with legendary singer songwriter Kenny Loggins back in 2016 to raise money to build a music studio in Kenny’s hometown of Santa Barbara. It is our pleasure to join forces with Notes for Notes to actually build out two studios in the Boys and Girls Clubs. We have built over 170 athletic facilities, 10 art studios but this is our first music studio build” , said Larry Harper, Good Tidings Foundation Founder and Chairman.

The Santa Barbara N4N Studios serve over 600 youth annually and will now have upgraded resources to serve even more and at a higher level thanks to these renovations. “We have so many talented youth finding their identity, personally and artistically in the studios, and the new look of these studios will inspire them even more” ,said Kris Ehrman, Notes for Notes Santa Barbara Metro Director. In a town where there is so much talent the studios will continue to be a hub for young artists. [KENNY QUOTE ABOUT HIS SUPPORT]

“We always saw Notes for Notes as something that could grow to serve many communities however, it was Santa Barbara that nurtured us from an idea and thanks to partners like the Santa Barbara Bowl helped launch it into the national organization it is today” , said Roderick Hare, Board Chair and Co-Founder. In addition to local partners and foundations who are vital to the continuation of N4N’s programming many sponsors have come onboard with in-kind support with gear and instruments Gibson, Casio, DW Drums, Zildjian, Audio Technica, Native Instruments, Avid, Ableton, Presonus, Kala, Ovation, LP, Dell, GIK Acoustics, and InMusic Brands. N4N’s second studio at the Westside Club was also the first studio to receive support from the Hot Topic Foundation which has since grown into a national partner making the mission possible.
