American indie-rock band, Walk the Moon, just earned their first ever number one hit with “Shut Up and Dance”, which topped alternative and rock charts this year! The band released their most recent album ‘Talking is Hard’ in December 2014 and has since been performing the rockin’, 80s-era-feel tracks while on tour throughout the states. Check out American Songwriter’s exclusive interview with front man, Nick Petricca, for the insider scoop on where the song originated – inspiring for any concertgoer.

Fortunatly for us, they’ll be stopping in Santa Barbara on Sunday May 17 as part of the 11th annual KJEE Summer Round Up! The show will also feature artists: Of Monsters and Men, Banks, Family of the Year, and just announced local band the Blues and Greys. It’s going to be a show that you definitely won’t want to miss.
