Viva La Santa Barbara Bowl! The Santa Barbara Bowl , constructed with WPA funds, was created to host the Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebrations and pageants.

Almost named the “Will Rogers Bowl”, the venue was built in 1936 with an original capacity of about 3,000 patrons, included box seats, and the ticket office was in the current Main Plaza. After $40,000,000 in renovations, the Bowl has been modernized and can now host 4,500+ patrons at each concert.

These original archival photos are from the Bowl’s very beginning for early Fiesta pageantry!

Please consider donating to the 2020 Operational Shortfall today so the Bowl can continue to be a part of Santa Barbara’s rich community history!
