SANTA BARBARA, CA – Monday, September 19th, 2016
The Who will commemorate their once-in-a-lifetime performance at the Santa Barbara Bowl with a custom reusable pint cup featuring the artwork of Richard Evans, available at the venue only on October 6 as part of the venue’s #MyPintAndMe Campaign.
The Santa Barbara Bowl’s #MyPintAndMe Campaign started in 2014 as part of the venue’s greening practices. Once a pint is purchased for $10, the patron may bring it to any show and receive a discount on beverages for the life of the pint. The program gives concert-goers a chance to purchase new, reusable pints onsite helping to reduce the use of up to 90,000 single-use plastic cups per concert season. Make a difference – rock the pint!
Other custom artist pint campaigns include Phish, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and the Tedeschi Trucks Band. For The Who, there will be a limited number of pints available for sale on a first come first serve basis at all concession points, box office and merch booth on the show day only.
The proceeds will benefit Teen Cancer America, a charity founded by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. Teen Cancer America partners with hospitals throughout the United States to develop specialized facilities and services for teens and young adults with cancer. They build teen friendly environments, enhancing the hospital experience. They develop standards for age-targeted care, improve collaboration between pediatric and adult specialists and enable dedicated research to improve outcomes and survival. You can donate directly to Teen Cancer America here.
In addition to all custom The Who pint sales, Santa Barbara Bowl will donate proceeds from venue branded pints to the same charity on October 6 only.
