Check out the latest issue of Shape of Voice, the Youth Media Project quarterly newspaper. The paper is entirely written and produced by young people who meet weekly with adult mentors, who guide them and teach them in media skills such as photography reporting, film and music reviewing, web design, layout, etc. The Bowl’s Education Outreach Program has been providing tickets and photo passes to student reporters to help bolster their experience. Featured on Page 21, the photo spread is an outstanding example of youth journalism. Keep up the great work Shape of Voice! The Santa Barbara Bowl Education Outreach Program is a community outreach endeavor dedicated to supporting music and performing arts education. It reaches approximately 20,000 Santa Barbara-area students each year. Led by Bowl Foundation Board members and other interested volunteers, the Education Outreach Program uses the Santa Barbara Bowl’s position as one of the preeminent performing arts venues in the Country to attract and foster partnerships with local schools, other performing arts venues, and public and private charities to create and support music and performing arts events and programs for area students.
