In 2010, the German rock band Scorpions released their 17th album Sting in the Tail, which quickly became a popular album worldwide, loved by fans and critics alike. Also that year, they went on a world tour and celebrated 45 years of creating great music. It seemed as though the band was unstoppable, and so it came as a shock and disappointment when Scorpions announced their retirement shortly after.
However three years later, Scorpions were still on tour for their album. They obviously found that retirement was more difficult than they originally thought. Now in 2015, Scorpions are not only celebrating their 50th anniversary, but also on another tour with their new album, Return to Forever. For talented rockers like Scorpions, not making music would be heartbreaking for a group that has inspired rock for 50 years.
The SB Bowl is thankful that Scorpions did not retire when they originally decided to, not only because they’re rock legends, but also because they will be playing at the SB Bowl on October 6. Make sure to see Scorpions play live before they actually do decide to retire, grab your tickets here!
