Pianos on State: Play One ToDAY!

Each October, Pianos on State, turns Santa Barbara into a living, impromptu musical stage with group performances, guest artists, and spontaneous sing-alongs. The 7th annual Pianos on State runs October 13-24, 2016, coinciding with the New Noise Music Conference.

Twelve pianos decorated by local artists can be found on State Street as well as one piano in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone, and an eclectically decorated piano on permanent display at the Santa Barbara Airport. Amateur, professionals, and public musicians alike are invited to sit down for impromptu play, musical exploration, and group performances morning, afternoon, and evening throughout the two weekends (10 am – 10 pm).

The first week’s schedule of performances includes:

October 15, Piano at Marshalls, 900 State Street

3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m: Anastasia

7:00 p.m. to 7:20 p.m: Thomas Everest

7:20 p.m. to 7:30 p.m: Elena Everest

October 16, Piano at Marshalls, 900 State Street

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Anastasia

Pianos on State is a collaborative project that strives to provide arts exposure for all ages to the people of Santa Barbara. The organizations involved are committed to enhancing the cultural vibrancy of our creative communities throughout Santa Barbara County.
