Late last year, the Jesuit Refugee Service began its Global Education Initiative. The goal of this program is to provide education to the thousands of refugees that are struggling for freedom worldwide.
On June 3, Emmylou Harris visited Rome to get a first hand experience of this refugee crisis and how JRS is helping to combat this issue. Moved by what she saw, this spurred her to launch a benefit tour that will begin later this year. The tour “will raise funds for JRS’s education initiative.”
