It’s not everyday that we can showcase cool Bowl archival ephemera — in this case a handbill — and promote a singer from the original gig now playing in Santa Barbara.
But this recently found gem — from an August 7, 1982 Bowl concert featuring Talking Heads and Black Uhuru — perfectly aligns with Don Carlos’ show tonight at Soho.
In 1982, as part of Black Uhuru, legendary roots reggae artist Don Carlos was pumping out new dance hall music — Them Never Know A Natty Dread Have Credentials, Day to Day Living and Harvest Time — all which made it into the 1982 performance at the Bowl.
Tonight Don Carlos takes the stage again in Santa Barbara this time at Soho at 7:00 PM.
