Here comes the Sun! And you know what that means Santa Barbara... Summer Solstice celebrations will be in full swing! The creative community of SB is set to host the magnificent 2023 Summer Solstice Parade & Festival this weekend, transforming Santa Barbara into a dazzling display of colors, music, art, and performances.

This year, the Summer Solstice Celebration will present the Santa Barbara Bowl ‘CommUnity’ Stage at the Solstice Music and Arts Festival. The backdrop to the stage, made possible by Bowl’s Outreach sponsorship, was painted by Solstice artist in residence and muralist Carlos Cuellar.

The SB Bowl ‘CommUnity’ Stage will feature youth performers, folk, ethnic music and dance, puppeteers, and storytellers inside the Festival in Alameda Park. The stage is shared by the new Roots of Culture Zone and the Children’s Mini Fest; open Saturday, June 24th and Sunday, June 25th from noon to 6 pm.

SBBowl Executive Director Rick Boller said this about supporting the Solstice Stage this year; “Local arts organizations serve as the backbone of youth educational opportunities in the performing arts. Due to the strong level of support directed towards our valuable local non-profits, the Bowl’s Outreach program has an amazing impact on youth throughout Santa Barbara County.”

This year’s “Roots” themed parade is on Saturday, June 24th, starting at noon!
