Name a Seat

We are relatively new to Santa Barbara and are looking for ways to connect with the community. We fell in love with the Santa Barbara Bowl and felt [naming a seat] was a great way to contribute to further development and sustainment of this great venue. used this opportunity to commemorate our 25th wedding anniversary, which was an awesome surprise for my wife. Greg, [The Development Manager], was a fantastic partner in coordinating a very special "unveiling" on the day of our anniversary. From the time I contacted him to coordinate our seat selection, he was a great partner to work with. He made it a very enjoyable experience and we feel great about supporting the Santa Barbara Bowl - our favorite place to be entertained!

Section A, Row GG, Seat 58 is in honor of Nicole Siller's birthday and my half birthday. The summer of 2014 Nikki had taken on the task of getting us tickets to see Jack Johnson. I had been wanting to see him for years! The night of the concert, I'll never forget the look of horror on her face as she realized we were in the very last row! I assured her it did not matter and pointed out our ideal location by the bathrooms and beer. The concert was amazing! The company, beer, and view from the top...Priceless!!!

We're long time neighbors of The Bowl. Naming a seat seemed like a great way to support this local treasure.

We named this seat after our dad, Michael C. McMahon, a long-time resident of Santa Barbara County and a true music lover. No place better embodies his fun loving spirit than the SB Bowl and now he will always have a great seat at this special venue. We look forward to many more memories together.

Our plaque is dedicated to "Ron & Debbie Broughman - Love & Rock & Roll - " My sister and I purchased it for our parents, who love Santa Barbara and the Bowl. Growing up, our parents were always listening to music, in particular classic rock. I think my sister knew all the words to Hotel California when she was about 5. Our parents have decades of memories filled with concerts and good music. After all these years they say the Bowl is the best place to see a show - that the sound, the feeling there is incomparable. This year they are excited to go check out their special "seat."

My Mother, Pamela Shoudy Dixon, lived in Santa Barbara in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1958. Growing up, visiting and enjoying The Santa Barbara Bowl was a part of my mother's family tradition, especially during Fiesta. In 2005, I was fortunate to become a stagehand working behind the scenes setting up and taking down every show at The Bowl. Talk about a dream job! It is truly a magical place to work as well as to see a concert. When touring artists and their road crews come to this beautiful venue, they frequently tell us how lucky we are to have this community jewel in our backyard stating that this is one of the best venues in the Country. To celebrate and honor my mother's family name, as well as to show my support for our world class venue, I dedicated a seat to my mother and her family name by naming a seat 'Shoudy' for her 76th birthday. Mom and dad continue to enjoy The Bowl to this day and were thrilled to see the seat when they came to see Dolly Parton this year and no doubt will continue to enjoy it in future concert seasons to come!

I was struggling to think of a unique gift for my girlfriend when I remembered reading about Name-A-Seat at the Bowl. Getting to see shows at the Bowl with a “plus one” was by FAR the best perk that came with working ten years at a local SB radio station. So in an effort to look cooler than I really was, my initial courtship approach involved bringing her to concerts at the Bowl. The thought of the two of us becoming a permanent fixture in the venue where our relationship began was too exciting to pass up. Now anyone who sits in our seat will know she is “Forever my +1.” Oh, and she LOVED IT!
