311 was formed in 1990 in Omaha, Nebraska by singer/guitarist Nick Hexum, singer S.A. Martinez, guitarist Tim Mahoney, drummer Chad Sexton and bassist P-Nut. The band now resides in Los Angeles, California.
311 have released ten studio albums, one live album, one greatest hits album and three dvd's - and have sold over 8.5 million albums in the U.S. Seven of their albums have reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Sales Chart...and nine of their singles have reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Alternative Rock Radio Chart (including the #1 singles Down, Love Song & Don't Tread On Me. Along with Amber, All Mixed Up, Come Original, Creatures For Awhile, Hey You and Sunset in July).
311’s new album STEREOLITHIC (on 311 Records and distributed via INGrooves), has been released today, March 11, 2014 (“311 DAY”). The album features 15 new songs.
With the breakout success of their self-titled 2010 debut album and widespread acclaim for their exhilarating live shows, Young the Giant has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting new bands to come out of Southern California in recent memory.
For their highly anticipated second album Mind Over Matter Young the Giant enlisted Grammy-nominated producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen - known for his work with such diverse artists as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, and M83. Featuring the electrifying lead single “It’s About Time,” the collection of songs finds the young band challenging themselves both lyrically and musically. Mind Over Matter follows the band’s debut, Young the Giant which featured singles as 'Apartment' and the RIAA gold certified smashes, 'My Body' and 'Cough Syrup.' 'My Body' was a top 5 hit at Alternative radio and closed 2011 as the year’s fifth most-played song at the format. 'Cough Syrup' drew even greater success, peaking at #2 at Alternative, and enjoying crossover chart success at both Hot AC and Triple A radio.
Big Data is a paranoid electronic music project from the Internet, formed out of a general distrust for technology and The Cloud (despite a growing dependence on them). Helmed by producer, Alan Wilkis, Big Data aims to explore the relationship between man and machine, and how the internet has reshaped the human experience.
Birds of Tokyo and their insistent, bittersweet, rock sounds have resonated deeply with Australian critics and fans. Following two acclaimed albums, the indie band’s self-titled third studio release spent over eight months in the Australian Top 20 and was certified double platinum. It also picked up an ARIA Award for ‘Best Rock Album’ in 2010.
