Time’s 2014 list of The Most Influential Teenagers features Jade Smith, Austin Mahone, Becky G. and the amazing Lorde among the 25 total nominees chosen by Time Magazine. Lorde, born Ella Yelich-O’Connor, was featured on the list due to her worldwide hit “Royals” and her curation of the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay–Part 1. She has received two Grammy awards for her song “Royals” and her debut album Pure Heroine. Not only is she a role model through her music, but she also promotes natural beauty and a healthy body image. In March, the 17-year-old New Zealander shared two photos of herself, one that was photoshopped and one unedited, to remind her millions of Twitter followers that “flaws are ok.”
