We would like to recognize Elizabeth Caruso once again for being named 2021 SBBowl Performing Arts Teacher of the Year! Liz teaches music at Monroe Elementary School in the Santa Barbara Unified School District.
COVID-19 has forced this year’s official celebration to be cancelled, but the Bowl would like to celebrate Liz Caruso for her unwavering efforts in performing arts education!
Knowing firsthand the importance of music education, Caruso created the Monroe School Choir three years ago for students in grades 4-6. The choir has performed for several community events.
Caruso brought the BRAVO! free afterschool music instruction program to Monroe School in 2018. Through Caruso’s vision and passion, every BRAVO! elementary student musician can enhance and enrich their lives through music twice weekly.
The Santa Barbara Bowl PATOY is an annual recognition of an exemplary performing arts teacher. The SBCEO Teachers Network, in partnership with The Santa Barbara Bowl, selects one teacher based upon the content of the nomination forms.
