On September 11, 2011, Ray LaMontagne played a sold-out show with opening act Brandi Carlile at the Santa Barbara Bowl. According to the Santa Barbara Independent, he started the show on a darkened stage with only his bass player, which brought a chill over the audience. LaMontagne, known for his unique brand of folk rock music, started his set with the haunting, “Burn”, from his 2004 debut record Trouble. The rest of the Pariah Dogs joined the duo onstage for the second song, “For the Summer” off his Grammy Award-winning album God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise. After a few songs, LaMontagne addressed the crowd, thanking the audience throughout the evening. The opening act, Brandi Carlile, paired well with LaMontange’s folk-rock vibe. The petite singer is known for her powerful voice which was shown in highlight of her set when she sang “The Story” off her album of the same name. LaMontagne closed the show with his highlighted songs “Jolene” and “Like Rock & Roll and Radio”.

Ray LaMontagne will make his next debut at the Santa Barbara Bowl this October 18th and will be playing along side the opening act the Belle Brigade. Can’t wait to see what Ray has in store for us in this next concert! Grab tickets here
