SANTA BARBARA BOWL
Santa Barbara Bowl outreach program is sponsoring the Orffsb Shulwerk workshop this Sunday, January 12th. Featuring internationally renowned practitioner Doug Goodkin, Orff Shulwerk is a process of teaching music to children combining music, movement, drama, and speech that mirrors a child’s world of play.
The Bowl provides support performing arts for youth through our Outreach program. By sponsoring this workshop, our friends at SBUnified are working to unite music teachers throughout SB, SLO and Ventura counties to support each other and create greater impact for elementary music education.
Doug Goodkin recently completed his 45th year teaching music at The San Francisco School to children from three years old through 8th grade. He continues a rigorous schedule of giving Orff Courses throughout the world, keeps an ongoing blog and performs with his jazz group Doug Goodkin & the Pentatonics.
