September sets off Lorde’s North American tour with special guest Majical Cloudz! The duo of vocalist Devon Welsh and synth programmer Matthew Otto come together as Majical Cloudz hailing from Montreal, Canada. Lorde expressed her fandom of the duo by mentioning them in tweets and interviews and chose to have them on her tour. According to billboard.com, the synth-based music of Majical Cloudz’ is similar to Lorde’s hit songs. It is also said that Majical Cloudz plans on sharing some new songs in opening for Lorde. Vocalist Welsh says he refuses to alter the band’s intense, minimal approach. Welsh says, “Most, if not all of the people coming to the show will have probably never heard of us. The bright side of it is if ten percent of the people who come had a good time watching us play, that’s probably more people than have ever been interested before at a single show”.
