SANTA BARBARA BOWL
Girls Rock SB! is a non-profit after school program and summer camp combining music education, performance, and self-empowerment to help young girls fulfill their passion and self-esteem through music. Through this program girls receive instrumental instruction and informational workshops that teach them how to form a band and write songs. At the end of the program they are able to perform a showcase concert in front of family and friends.
The director of Girls Rock SB!, Jen Baron, states her goal for the camp, “to promote an environment that fosters self-confidence, creativity, and teamwork.” Girls Rock SB! is in its third year and has a goal to cover the costs of the camp and provide 65 scholarships for girls in need. Girls Rock welcomes donations of musical instruments (drums, guitars,violins, etc) as well as recording equipment (cables, microphones, mixers and much more).
