A recent student visit of the Santa Barbara Bowl was facilitated by the Bowl Education Outreach Department. The tour was given to students in the after school music program at The Village at Santa Barbara, which is a community center supported by The Turner Foundation.
We love showing young artists the Bowl grounds, and to educate them on a bit of the music history that has helped to contribute to the legacy of the Bowl. Exposing children to music at a young age, encourages them to keep playing and to better understand what a career in the performance arts looks like.
“It was so touching to know that all of these kids play multiple instruments, and are so proud of themselves for it,” said Kai Tepper, Education Outreach program manager and tour guide for the students. She also mentioned that the Bowl has donated both instruments and tickets to The Village in the past: “It is nice to see the impact we have on these young lives.”
During their time at the Bowl, the students tour spanned from the Jerry Garcia Glen (pictured above) up to the Scranton Overlook (pictured below).
