Check out Arcade Fire’s newest and now controversial music video “We Exist” starring “The Amazing Spiderman 2” Andrew Garfield portraying a transgender woman who is assaulted in a bar, but later finds acceptance at an Arcade Fire concert. Against Me! lead singer, Laura Jane Grace, who happens to be transgender tweeted, “Maybe when making a video for a song called ‘We Exist’ you should get an actual ‘Trans’ actor instead of Spider-Man?”
Arcade Fire’s frontman Win Butler responed in a recent interview with the Advocate stating “There was just so much thought and love that went into the video I don’t personally see it as negative.”
