Alabama Shakes are ready to take the world by storm with their sophomore studio album, Sound & Color – and the roots rockers got a jaw-dropping performance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel to prove it. The roots rockers showcased a rendition of their song “Over My Head” off their new record, which released on April 21 via ATO Records. The Southern rock band takes us down an emotional gospel-blues-rock sonic experience as vocalist Brittany Howard pours heart and soul onto the stage with her boisterous vocals, backed by an equally mesmerizing three-person chorus that whips the performance to perfection.
The southern rock band from Athens will be busy touring North America and Europe for the next couple months in support of their latest full-length release. If their Tonight Show performance is any indication of what their summer tour will be like, we’re all in for a treat.
The Alabama Shakes will make their SB Bowl debut on Friday, August 14 with special guest Chicano Batman. We’re geared up to see the show of a lifetime, and we hope all of you are too.
