Introducing.. the Santa Barbara Bowl’s GREEN TEAM

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! On July 10th, the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation takes its commitmentto giving the Bowl a lighter eco-footprint one giantstep further – the new GREEN TEAM will strive to divert99% of the Bowl’s waste away from landfills for thesold-out Incubus concert! This would be a 29% increasefrom the current sorting that diverts on average 70% of allconcert waste.

For this special event, our all volunteer GREEN TEAM will “presort”and help educate concert-goers on what items shouldbe recycled, composted or reused from what is truly landfillwaste during the show. The GREEN TEAM will then assist witha post-show sorting party to ensure all waste materials areproperly sorted. The Bowl team is thrilled about this exciting partnership withIncubus, long-time friends of the Bowl. Board Member and EducationOutreach Committee Co-Chair Graham Farrar, the veryfirst GREEN TEAM volunteer, is committed to leading the teamto victory! “The Bowl is one of the best venues in the country- now we want to make it one of the greenest too,” said Graham.“The Bowl is already an industry leader in environmentalconservation. This takes our commitment to the Santa Barbaracommunity to an entirely new level. We’ll not only reduce theBowl’s impact on the environment, but hopefully raise people’sawareness of things that they can do in their daily lives.”For more information on how YOU can join the GREENTEAM please contact sbbowl@sbbowl.com or call Eric at 805-962-7411, x14.
