SB Bowl’s solar installation is complete — and the canyon now runs on sunshine.
For years, the Santa Barbara Bowl has worked to reduce the environmental footprint of live music. The multi-phase solar project now converts Central Coast sunshine into clean, renewable energy that powers the venue.
The Goal: 100% Solar
The goal is simple: balance the Bowl’s annual electricity use with on-site solar power. Today, solar accounts for about 94% of that use, and the finish line is near. As the gap closes, every performance carries more sunshine—a lasting investment in the land, the community, and the future of live music at the Bowl.
What It Adds Up To
The 604,200 kWh of solar power generated on site adds up to enough clean energy to:
- Avoid roughly 428 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions
- Power the equivalent of about 57 average U.S. homes for an entire year
