Stewards of the land
Beauty abounds on the Santa Barbara Bowl’s 17-acre island of open space, so naturally, taking care of this space is essential. A leader in greening practices within the industry, the Greening the Bowl initiative seeks to make the venue as close to carbon neutral as possible.
To achieve this
- Become stewards of the land by cultivating native and drought-tolerant California plants and creating an open, natural space for all flora and fauna.
- Encourage alternate forms of transportation, including car-free and rideshare opportunities.
- Reduce event waste to as close to zero as possible by eliminating single-use items.
- Balance our energy use to a net-zero annual use by reducing energy consumed and producing solar power.
- Serve higher quality concessions with a focus on local, natural, and organic items.
