Slightly Stoopid has been performing in Santa Barbara for nearly 17 years and is returning to the SB Bowl, this time as the headliners with their “Summer Sessions 2014” tour. Group members Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald started the band in high school and reminisce about those tour days. In a recent interview with Santa Barbara Independent, Doughty says, “We’re all very fortunate to be able to do this for a couple decades and travel the world with your best friends. I’m living the dream”. They started out as a punk-rock band with three members back in 1995. The current configuration of eight members now play a variety of genres from hip-hop to acoustic and blues to rock. That being said, their show this Friday night will promise to be an eclectic evening along with their special guests and hip-hop icons Cypress Hill and Stephen Marley. According to Doughty, the Bowl is a special highlight on their tour schedule and that Santa Barbara has always been a bit of a home for the band.
