On November 16, 2014, the Santa Barbara Bowl’s newly completed box office will be dedicated as the Dreier Box Office and Administration Building, named in honor of local philanthropists, Chad and Ginni Dreier and family.

In 2004, the Dreiers stepped forward and made a seven-figure gift and the first matching grant to the American Classic Campaign for the Renovation and Restoration of the Santa Barbara Bowl. Their philanthropic leadership helped generate over $1,000,000 in new pledges and donations. Ginni Dreier has served on the Bowl Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2004.

“The Santa Barbara Bowl holds a special place for our music-loving family and our community,” said Chad and Ginni Dreier. “To have the new box office and administration building named for us is a wonderful honor. The improvements at the Bowl have been first-rate and the Dreier Box Office is a fantastic addition. Supporting live music at the Bowl has been important to us, and we are happy to play a part in improving and protecting this community landmark for future generations. We are excited for our friends and community to see and experience all the box office’s new bells and whistles in 2015!”

The renovation of the administration building and lower plaza included an expanded and improved box office and administration offices, a new walkway, public restrooms, updated traffic and pedestrian control, and better flow for concert operations. The Dreier Box Office project is a critical element of the Bowl’s $40 million Renovation and Restoration Campaign.

“We are grateful to the Dreier Family—their leadership and generosity set a high standard of philanthropy early on in the Campaign, and they have been generous through the effort. In addition, they are active supporters of our Education Outreach Program,” said Board President Paul Dore. “The dedication of the box office in their honor is a wonderful tribute to their giving spirit.”

“The Bowl staff is moving to the new Dreier Box Office this December and we couldn’t be more excited to establish our ticket and administrative offices in such a beautiful building. The new box office lends itself to both the best in state-of-the-art technology and advances of modern offices while capturing the WPA Craftsman-style architecture that you see throughout the venue,” said Executive Director Rick Boller. “The Lower Plaza walkway opened earlier this season and had a tremendous impact on concert flow and pedestrian safety and comfort. We can’t wait to greet patrons back to the Bowl in 2015 in the new Dreier Box Office!”
