SANTA BARBARA BOWL
When long-time SB Bowl Foundation Board Member and friend of the Bowl, Monte T. Brown, passed away suddenly, something needed to be done to memorialize him and his dedication to music. The Bowl along with The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara joined forces to create The Monte T. Brown Scholarship Fund. This fund would be the first of its kind for the Scholarship Foundation. It’s purpose, to support Santa Barbara area students further their post-high school education in pursuit of a career in music.
“Monte introduced our sons to his love of music at a very early age, taking them to countless shows at his beloved Santa Barbara Bowl,” said Merryl. “His passion for music will live on through this memorial scholarship. Dryden, Winslow, and I are enormously grateful to the Santa Barbara Bowl for its stewardship of this fund and for its kind remembrance of Monte, whom we all love and miss very much.”
