Part of the MUSICOLLAB Initiative to feature Santa Barbara as the next big West Coast Music Mecca with a focus on the next generation!
For the first time in Chase Palm Park Concert history, local up-and-coming Santa Barbara youth musicians will take the stage. Following in the footsteps of Santa Barbara greats Dishwalla and Toad the Wet Sprocket, these under-18-year-olds bring a level of talent and confidence to the stage that is far beyond their years.
Everyone who sees these bands for the first time gets the same feeling . . . like they’re witnessing the genesis of the next big thing. Don’t miss your chance to see them perform live, on August 11, at one of Santa Barbara’s greatest outdoor venues!
False Puppet turns out hard rocking pop/punk/rock with Tyler Benko and Channing Peake grinding on vocals. Benko and Peake also prevail on guitar and bass, respectively. Brennan Benko keeps the up-beat tempos jumping on drums making this trio a group that will get your heart pounding and your feet moving. False Puppet got its start when the boys entered their Jr. High Talent show. They have played all over the state in venues including Downtown Disney’s House of Blues. They are currently recording their first full-length album.
Bad Jack cranks out up-beat rock and roll with meaningful, life-inspired lyrics thanks to the dynamic song-writing duo J.T. Tomlinson and Brahm Long. Backed by solid, progressive drums from Connor Higgins, Bad Jack’s groovy guitar lines and hooks will keep you on your feet and singing along. Tomlinson fronts with clear, resounding vocals and bass while Long wails on lead guitar. The three members of Bad Jack have been playing all over town for years. Their latest gigs include the Main Stage at Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days.
Jaded Cloud, led by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Connor Weinstein, brings a gritty, determined sound to the stage. Along with vocalist, bassist, and songwriter Joey Biro, and Mikey Bates on drums, the trio seamlessly executes tunes reminiscent of the best of the 80s and 90s.
Sozo lead vocalist Brandi Lentini enchants audiences with her classic smoky blues/rock sound. Brandi is joined in Sozo by vocalist Alba Vargas, guitarisrt Joe Oscuna, keyboardist Selah Carr, bassist Alanna Gonzalez and drummer Ben Badillo. The soulful sounds of Sozo will definitely help you get your groove on.
