Lin-Manuel Miranda surprises 3 Hamilton-loving sisters from Lompoc high school on Good Morning America!

The incredibly talented Simon sisters and performing arts students from Lompoc were featured on GMA for their original song "The women!" Superfans Azyiah, Maliah and Amia Simmons of California were scheduled to perform their original song based on the musical at the Pantages Theatre before the pandemic.

The Simon sisters were students of Bree Jansen, the 2019-2020 Santa Barbara Bowl Performing Arts Teacher of the Year. Bree, being a super Hamilton fan herself, encouraged her students to create and submit the original song through the #EduHam #HamAtHome contest.

The Bowl continues to be inspired by Bree Jansen and her education efforts and we wish a hearty congratulations to the Simon sisters for their amazing accomplishment!

The Sbbowl "Performing Arts Teacher of the Year" is an annual recognition of an exemplary performing arts teacher. The SBCEO Teachers Network, in partnership with The Santa Barbara Bowl, selects one teacher based upon the content of the nomination forms.
