Every year in June, the community of Santa Barbara celebrates the arrival of summer at the Summer Solstice Festival, which includes the themed parade on Saturday. This year, the SB Bowl helped fund a kid's stage with many events taking place over Saturday and Sunday of the festival. The stage included a changing tent and a "greenroom" exclusively for the kids, as well as pizzas and drinks from California Pizza Kitchen. With activities such as hoop dancing workshops, yoga workshops and performances by the SB Youth Music Academy, the kids stage helped keep kids entertained and gave them a space separate from the other parts of the festival. The stage was a huge success, with the festival organizers noting the enthusiasm and talent of the kids, and families staying longer in the park. The kids loved the experience, and one of the regular kid's area booths remarked about the increase in festival attendance on Sunday as well.
