Santa Barbara reggae outfit Rebelution released their fourth album on June 10 as a joint venture between the band’s 87 Music label and New York City’s reggae independent Easy Star Records. Their fourth album “Count Me In” entered at No. 14 on the Top 200 for the week ending June 28 as their best selling debut week to date. This Californian band has evolved since its forming in 2004 while at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Rebelution’s lead singer/guitarist Eric Rachmany says “Count Me In” successfully captures the vivacity of their live shows. Rachmany also attributes their CD’s strong sales to the band’s genuine connection to its fans. He says, “We also give music away because it brings people out to our shows and then they want a souvenir of their experience so they will buy a CD.” The band’s “Count Me In” summer tour is occurring at venues averaging at a capacity of 4,500 and is a must-see at their hometown in Santa Barbara!
