One of the Santa Barbara Bowl’s favorite programs, The Santa Barbara Youth Symphony, is presenting a free community concert at La Cumbre Plaza on Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 PM. Our Education Outreach program has provided support for their Concert for Young People program, a three-month in-school music education program culminating with a symphony concert experience.

The Santa Barbara Youth Symphony is an orchestra of 65-70 young musicians from Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. These students, ages 12-18 and all from our regional schools, are challenged with serious pieces from the standard orchestral repertoire. Each Youth Symphony member is chosen by audition and no student is refused entry because of finances. Students rehearse weekly on Sunday evenings during the school year.
